Front garden as of May 8, 2013. For the past couple of years, this shady north-facing area in front of our house has been dirt and mulch. We had a hard time figuring out what to do with it. Now there are two Boston ferns in the very back and two varieties of Hosta in front of our air-conditioner. Scattered around the edges are a mix of coleus and impatiens. I also planted some astilbe bulbs. I hope they come up!
The back garden is getting rather fried, in spite of our best efforts. The Japanese spirea, which are three years old, are the exception—they look beautiful. Pictures TK.
On a final note, gardening is expensive.
